Important News from the Mayor’s Office Updated 12/20/2022

On December 5, Cook County issued a notice to employees regarding the Minimum Wage Ordinance (MWO).

Effective January 1, 2023, the minimum wage for tipped workers increases to $7.80, in alignment with the Illinois State minimum wage. The minimum wage for non-tipped workers remains $13.35.

The updated “Notice to Employees” and “Frequently Asked Questions” documents are available here.

Employees who believe their employer is not paying the required minimum wage should first check to ensure the municipality where they work does not have a different minimum wage. If the municipality has not opted out, employees can file a complaint with the Cook County Commission on Human Rights. Complaint forms and additional information can be found online.

Mayor Ryan and the Village Trustees assisted the opportunity

to again bring more development to Alsip at 3600 W 127th St

multi-million investment will now be a 40,000sqft logistics

facility, looking fantastic when finished + bring more jobs!

I’m pleased to announce that our 2022 Summer newsletter has been released. Please view it here.

To have your loved one included, just send their full name, birthdate, date of passing, a brief 75-word bio, last address (just to confirm Alsip residency – this information will not be shared publicly), and a high-resolution photo of them to, and they will be included on the page.

Please note that this page will memorialize Alsip residents only.

Village of Alsip would like to give a BIG Thank you, to the American Lawmen for donating 29 bicycles, 2 Harley Davidson big wheels, and 20 filled, black construction bags filled with toys, to the Worth Township facilities at 116th & Pulaski today. American Lawmen have been donating toys to Worth Township for years, but every year they go over and beyond and this year was no exception!!!!

Great Job and Thank you for your endless support and generosity!!!

Progress is being made at the Alsip Boat Launch following Morton Arboretum’s $260,000 grant for new Green Infrastructure to replace the east parking lot, we’ll soon be planting over 250 trees there. Plus, the walls are starting to go up at the new Alsip Gas N Wash at 127th & Kostner.

Alsip’s annual infrastructure projects are going well, as 330 squares of sidewalks are being replaced, while the water mains just west of Pulaski are also being replaced. Mayor Ryan and Public Works Supt Fraider submitted a request for a (STRS) Safe Routes To School Grant, asking for more sidewalks in neighborhoods in need of such.
