Chief’s Welcome Message
I would like to welcome you to the Alsip Fire Department information site. I am very honored to serve as your Fire Chief. The Alsip Fire Department is made of up highly trained, and very dedicated, professional men and women. The Alsip Fire Department’s mission is to provide timely, professional, safe and cost effective emergency services for the preservation of life and property. This is accomplished through our “State of the Art” approach to patient care and fire suppression through training and equipment. The Alsip Fire Department also provides extensive Fire Prevention and Public Education programs.
The Alsip Fire Department is proud to have an ISO (Insurance Services Office) rating of a 2 out of a 1-9 scale with 1 being the best. The Alsip Fire Department also has personnel that are specially trained in Hazardous Materials, Technical Rescue, fire investigations and have 2 members of the Illinois Urban Search and Rescue team (USaR).
The Alsip Fire Department consists of 2 Chief Officers/ Paramedics, 6 Lieutenants/ Paramedics, 27 Firefighter/ Paramedics, 2 civilian Fire Prevention Officers, 1 full time Administrative Assistant and 1 part-time Fire Prevention Administrator. The fire department staffs a minimum of 8 personnel daily that operate from 2 fire stations.
The fire department has 3 Advanced Life Support Ambulances (ALS), 2 front line Fire Engines that are ALS equipped, 1 reserve fire engine, 1 100’ ladder truck, 3 staff cars, 2 fire prevention cars, 1 service pick-up truck and our Fire Safety Trailer. The Alsip Fire Department also houses the Hazardous Materials Team’s Command Van, 1 Technical Rescue Trailer, and 1 light tower.
The Alsip Fire Department is a member of the Mutual Box Alarm System (MABAS) of Illinois which is our state-wide mutual aid resource. Alsip is a member Division 22.
