The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that a resurfacing of 127th Street from east of Interstate 294 (Tri-State Tollway) to Artesian Avenuein Alsip and Blue Island will require intermittent lane closures beginning May 20.
The work is expected to be complete by November.
The project also involves median rehabilitation and pedestrian improvements.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
