Mayor Ryan and the Alsip Village Board members agreed with Public Work Superintendent Mike Fraider, to purchase a remote-controlled lawnmower after some of the hillsides and retention areas were deemed too-soft to operate standard tractors on their surfaces. The Mayor has recommended its use on the 127th & Cicero medians as well, because IDOT isn’t cutting the grass frequently enough. The tracker wheels won’t get stuck like a typical tractor could and only one-man is required to bring the equipment to a site and work as its operator. Keeping the grass cut will keep these areas dry and reduce the opportunity for rodents and insects to infest.
