{"id":771,"date":"2013-10-08T11:49:05","date_gmt":"2013-10-08T16:49:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/villageofalsip.org\/wp\/?page_id=771"},"modified":"2026-04-10T13:36:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T18:36:07","slug":"clerks-office","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/villageofalsip.org\/wp\/clerks-office\/","title":{"rendered":"Clerks Office"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Village Clerk:<\/strong> Renee Harding<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>708-385-6902 x2319<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"mailto:rharding@villageofalsip.org\">Email<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Clerks Office Supervisor:<\/strong> Erica O&#8217;Donnell<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>708-385-6902 x2323<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"mailto:eodonnell@villageofalsip.org\">Email<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/villageofalsip.org\/General%20Info%20Chart%20-%205ILCS%20140%204%2004-07-2026.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">General Info Chart 5 ILCS 140\/4<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Clerks Office is responsible for the following functions&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Administers the oath of office to sworn officers of the <a href=\"https:\/\/villageofalsip.org\/wp\/elected-officials\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Village Council<\/a> including <a href=\"https:\/\/villageofalsip.org\/wp\/boards-commissions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">committee and commission<\/a> members as well as appointed officials.<\/li>\n<li>Maintains the official <a href=\"https:\/\/library.municode.com\/IL\/Alsip\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Municipal Ordinance Book<\/a>, official keeper of agreements, contracts, minutes, municipal records, ordinances, resolutions passed by the Village Board and various committees and other pertinent documents.<\/li>\n<li>Processes Freedom of Information <a href=\"https:\/\/villageofalsipil.nextrequest.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Requests<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Publishes all legal notices and processes <a href=\"https:\/\/villageofalsip.org\/wp\/block-parties\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">block party<\/a> and solicitation requests.<\/li>\n<li>Receives all <a href=\"https:\/\/villageofalsip.org\/wp\/bid-for-projects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bids<\/a>, hearing requests, petitions and other communication addressed to the Corporate body.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for the recording and releasing of liens for past due accounts.<\/li>\n<li>Supervises the registration of voters and serves as the local election official under the Cook County Clerk&#8217;s Office. Provides access to the list of registered voters and conducts in-office absentee voting within the requirements of the Illinois State Election Law.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for receipting all payments made to the Village of Alsip.<\/li>\n<li>Sales of transfer tax and <a href=\"https:\/\/laserfiche.villageofalsip.org:1188\/WebLink\/Browse.aspx?id=314364&amp;dbid=0&amp;repo=Village-of-Alsip\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tax exempt stamps<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Any and all <a href=\"http:\/\/villageofalsip.org\/wp\/foia-requests\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FOIA<\/a> transactions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Voting Information:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Election information regarding how to register to vote, ways to vote including applying for mail in ballots, early voting locations and times to name a few, can be found on the Cook County Clerks website at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cookcounnyclerkil.gov\">www.cookcounnyclerkil.gov<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Absentee Ballots:<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<strong>A<\/strong>bsentee ballots are also available 3 weeks before an election at the Village Clerks office. Persons who are unable to vote during regularly scheduled election times may use this option to vote. Those who are physically handicapped may also arrange to vote this way.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Absentee Voting Deadlines <strong>V<\/strong>oters can request applications beginning 40 days before the next election. The Village Clerk&#8217;s office must receive your application at least five days before the election. Voter ballots must be received by the Village Clerk&#8217;s office by Election Day.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The Village Clerk&#8217;s Office does not accept application nor the ballots for absentee voting.
